Dave was out of town...I never remember to do fun things for family home evening...so we invited Anna over and made scarecrows! I grabbed some old clothes that were in our 'giveaway' pile and some newspaper and we had a great time! Definitely amateur hour, but still fun!
Riley's is on the left and Anna's is on the right.
Tate's is the red guy, he enjoyed wadding and stuffing the newspaper.
Bryce made the Charlie Brown. Mine is the little OshKosh guy.
Two guesses as to who made this one.
This is Tennille's baby scarecrow. Everyone's came out differently with their own personal style. I think it will definitely be an annual tradition.
I had some extra duckcloth so I drew the Charlie Brown pumpkin patch scene.

Columbus Day Picnic
No school on Columbus Day...some kids were bored, some were grounded...Dave was out of town....So we headed out to Monticello to Nick's Park, swung by Pizza Hut to grab a portable lunch and had a family day away from electronic distractions.
Even the big kids like Nick's Park.
Of course Parker has to see how high he can climb...
Tate decided he would be keeper-of-the-dog.
Deciding the rules for tag...
Tennille was 'it'.
A boy and his dog named LucyBelle.
Tate found some great construction going on and stooped down for a better look.
Looking down for their next prey.
It is hard to slide when you insist on keeping the dog by your side.
The required kicking of the dirt/woodchips.
Lunch!
Teenagers are so much fun.

Forgot to Post!
The women's group at church does a service auction every year....everyone donates a service, craft, etc... and then we bid on them with points based on a questionaire filled out that night... There are some awesome services like dinners, errands ran for you, babysitting, hairbows, flowers, etc... I made this game to donate and one of my friends wanted me to post a picture... Basically copied the premise of CandyLand, but put actions on the board instead of doing cards, and a dice is rolled. Homemade games are fun and easy to make...when Parker was around 8, he made one similar but based on the book, Old Yeller, and gave it to my mom for Christmas.
P.S. I won a fabulous service that night...Stephanie Hodnett has the hidden talent of making awesome balloon animals so she donated an hour to make them at a child's birthday party! I was planning on using her to help with Tate's birthday, but I think Tennille would probably appreciate it more...and she is way excited!

General Conference Sunday at the Maughan's!
We happily left for Indiana on Sunday morning to see our 'family' friends. They had removed their Koi Pond since our last visit, but the kids loved the sand pit that was left in return.
The tire swing is always a popular favorite.
They had pumpkins on holiday display, but Tate felt they were his for the taking.
This is how he looked most of the day...with a pumpkin in one hand and constant bare feet.
Tate decided the pumpkins looked better growing out of the sand pit.
Paradise.
Kari and Lori were on kitchen detail.
Getting ready for the between-conference-session feast.
This is just the salad side...
That baby is the dreamiest...
Tennille loves Baby Amelia.
Julie and Matt had the basement so tidy....this is what happened about 15 minutes after conference started.
Many of us got comfy in the basement and settled in for the talks.
Bryce was an Amelia hog.
It wasn't just the little ones who needed their toys to keep them occupied....
Tate has become, much to my shame, a DS expert/addict.
Future Juvenile Detention Camper.
Work it, girl!!
More baby stealing
What is that, Breanna? Could Bryce be holding your baby....plus drinking a Matt-made lemon shakeup??!!
Okay, the lemon shakeup was a prop...but he did take over the Amelia holding....
Football with Matt.
